Confidential Business Intermediaries (Click To Visit Our Corporate Office Website) was formed by Carl Grimes (Click For Bio) in 1994 in Northwest Arkansas with the goal of helping business owners right here in the mid-south. Over the years the company has grown to have 3 affiliate offices: Northwest Arkansas, Central Arkansas, and us, the Fort Smith and River Valley office serving Eastern Oklahoma, Western Arkansas, and the Russellville River Valley region.
Our process has been tried and proven over the last 20+ years. We have sold businesses in many different industries with sell prices from the small mom and pop business for under $100,000 to the lower-middle market-sized business for over $20 million. Mark Kincannon became the managing partner at CBI Team Fort Smith-River Valley office in the Spring of 2016. He was born in Fort Smith, but spent most of his school age years in Little Rock. He went on to play baseball in college where he was an Academic All-American his sophomore year and served his senior year as captain for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He graduated from UALR with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. After finishing his undergraduate degree he later completed a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies from Southern Seminary in Louisville Kentucky.
As managing partner, Mark coordinates the CBI Team Fort Smith-River Valley to assist business owners with the difficult process of selling or buying a business. Skilled in organizational leadership, Mark utilizes his years of experience as coach, athletic director, and executive pastor to lead business owners through some of the most complex and stressful situations they have ever experienced. Mark’s experience and understanding of the process has allowed him to successfully work with accountants, attorneys, bankers, as well as buyers and sellers. He has had the privilege of facilitating the sell of everything from small retail boutiques to dental practices to multi-million dollar service companies. The leadership, trustworthiness, and communication skills that Mark brings to the CBI Team Fort Smith-River Valley help clients navigate some of the most stressful experiences of their careers. Mark lives in Fort Smith and is married to Michelle. They have two sons and one daughter.
Greg is a successful entrepreneur with 30 years of sales and management experience and 18 years of logistics experience. Greg truly is the “business owners business broker.” Having successfully sold two of his own businesses, he understands the emotion and stress of sitting in the seat of a business owner who is selling the company they worked hard to build. Greg lives in Fort Smith and is married to Aaron. They have three sons and three daughters.
Joe Edwards brings over 50 years of banking, finance, and entrepreneurship with him as he helps business owners think through the process of buying and selling their businesses. Joe also understands the stressful and complicated process of selling a business first hand. Joe built a successful community bank called Benefit Bank that was sold to Armstrong Bank in 2014. Joe’s accounting and banking background helps the CBI Team properly evaluate and navigate business transitions. Joe lives in Fort Smith and is married to Judy. They have four children and nine grandchildren.
Isaac Davis brings advanced communication skills, partnered with expert marketing and sales experience to the CBI Team. A native of Ghana, Isaac became an entrepreneur at a very young age. Graduating high school at the age of 16, he started a small business which sustained him through college. He graduated from the University of Cape Coast and then moved to the United States receiving graduate education at Harvard University and Berkley College. Isaac gained valuable sales, marketing, and management experience as he was instrumental in helping a Great Britain-based clothing retailer gain a North American foothold as part of their new store launch team. Isaac lives in Fort Smith and is married to Dr. Daphne MacBruce-Davis MD.
A native of Fort Smith, AR, Rachel graduated with a degree in Interpersonal and Public Communication in 2001. Since that time, she has enjoyed working in various roles including event planning/coordination and teaching. From 2014-2017 Rachel lived with her husband, Donnie, and three children in Central Asia where she was involved in humanitarian aid work. She also spent those years heavily involved in the international school her children attended where she was the elementary school coordinator and director of teacher recruitment. Rachel helps to implement and execute communication and marketings strategies for CBI Team Fort Smith-River Valley.
